Lehigh University's Institute for Functional Materials and Devices (I-FMD) invited regional industry leaders to attend our Symposium on Advanced Manufacturing held on its campus on Tuesday December 6, 2022, starting at 9 am EST. This event brought together industry leaders from across the manufacturing landscape to speak about new directions, opportunities, and challenges in the manufacturing arena, and to build fruitful collaborations with faculty experts.

The first session of the event comprised keynote talks by industry experts, providing their perspectives in a 25 minute presentation (+5 minute Q&A) each about how advances in manufacturing are being implemented within their industry, as well as new directions to encourage academic research. In the second session, 15 Lehigh faculty experts working in manufacturing or related fields presented 5 minute lightning rounds of their own research expertise and interests. The event also had a networking lunch and offered other networking opportunities for industry attendees to directly interact with faculty and graduate students to discuss potential collaborations and hear more about the facilities and expertise available at Lehigh. Optional tours of Lehigh's key research facilities were also offered.
