Mission

The Institute for Functional Materials and Devices (I-FMD) convenes Lehigh’s interdisciplinary expertise in materials and devices to incubate sustainable advanced technologies, developing innovative solutions that address global energy, environmental and health priorities.

I-FMD facilities, including the Integrated Nanofabrication and Cleanroom Facility (INCF) and the Materials Characterization Facility (MCF), which are designed for both the internal and external user communities, offer a broad range of fabrication and characterization capabilities, supporting every stage of research—from fundamental studies to prototype development.

Lehigh's I-FMD and ECE host IEEE Try Engineering Educator Session Event

In July, Svetlana Tatic-Lucic, Chair of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Lehigh University, and the Institute for Functional Materials and Devices (I-FMD) hosted teachers from Pennsylvania at the Health, Science & Technology Building, including a tour of the Integrated Nanofabrication and Cleanroom Facility.
