Dr. Preeta Datta is the Director of Open Innovation for North America at Evonik Corporation. She fosters strategic partnerships throughout the regional ecosystem with the aim of derisking innovation in new growth areas. She identifies new business prospects and strives for value creation via collaborations.
Preeta holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Chemical Engineering from the North Carolina State University, and a Masters' from Indian Institute of Science. Prior to Evonik, Preeta spent several years in the plastic packaging industry, leading sustainable transformation of commercial product portfolio. Apart from sustainability, Preeta is a passionate about service to STEM and society. She has served in advisory and leadership roles on boards of leading professional organizations such as Institute of Food Technologists, University of North Carolina, Women's Initiative Network and non-profit organizations such as Kiwanis International Young Professional Chapter.
